When will my yarn arrive?
My usual shipping timeframe for all ready-to-ship items is 3-5 business days, which doesn’t include weekends or holidays. I’m currently shipping orders once a week, on Wednesdays, in order to make as few trips as possible during Covid-19, so your order may go out a day or two after that time frame. Once your yarn has shipped, you will receive a USPS tracking number that you can use to track your package. I don’t have access to any additional information from USPS beyond checking that tracking info.
What’s your return policy?
Due to the nature of yarn and the fact that I can’t vouch for the conditions it’s been exposed to once it enters a customer’s home, yarn is not returnable. If you can show me that the product you’ve purchased is grossly misrepresented, of course I’m happy to provide a refund. However, please note that differences between dye lots when time has elapsed between the purchases of multiple skeins will not be considered a gross misrepresentation since that is the nature of hand-dyed yarn.
What’s your order cancellation policy?
Generally speaking, I don’t accept order cancellations. However, if you find that, for instance, you accidentally ordered a skein of a worsted weight when you actually meant to purchase the same color on a fingering weight, just get in touch with me and I can cancel so you can reorder the right yarn for your project. Purchases of custom orders, including weavings, cannot be canceled. Preorders, like those for the Sweet Sparrow Advent Calendars, are not eligible to be canceled.
I knit something beautiful! How do I wash it?
Objects knit from hand-dyed yarn should be gently hand-washed in cool water with a smidge of your favorite wool wash, then laid flat to dry. Superwash bases won’t felt if they find their way into the washing machine, but hand-washing will keep your finished objects looking gorgeous for a long time to come.
Can you dye yarn inspired by my favorite book? My favorite movie? My favorite flower? My cat?

I’d like to try dyeing yarn or weaving! Where do you get your yarn or supplies? What techniques do you use?
While I’m flattered that you’d ask, I don’t discuss my weaving or dyeing methods or sources. I’ve worked hard to build a recognizable aesthetic and maintaining that is important for my business. Thanks for understanding!
