Stories are at the heart of everything I create - yarn, weavings, illustrations, even cooking and gardening are filled with the magic of storytelling. It has brought people together in every culture for as long as humans have existed, in every culture and in every age. This year, the Sweet Sparrow advent calendar is inspired by the folklore and fairy tales from around the world, exploring both the stories themselves and the archetypes that flow through them, connecting us through the current of these universal themes and experiences.

Enjoy a new Folklore & Fairy Tales mini skein every day from December 1st to December 24th, then open a full skein on Christmas Day, with plenty of extra goodies along the way! Your advent calendar will come to you strung into a festive garland of hand-stamped envelopes, with a separately wrapped full 100g skein. But that’s not all!

Your advent calendar includes:

-24 beautifully packaged 10g fingering weight wool-blend mini skeins with a winter theme, perfect for scrappy socks, granny stripe blankets, cozy memories blankets, and more! These will be all new colorways. The mini-skeins will be on a variety of my superwash fingering-weight bases, Swift, House Wren, and Magpie. You’ll also receive a colorway guide telling you the name of each colorway, the story that inspired it, and what part of the world that story is from,

-1 100g skein of fingering weight yarn in an exclusive colorway-- this colorway will only ever be available in these advent calendars!

-A beautiful 15” by 16” tote bag, silk-screened with one of my original illustrations. These bags are a lovely, soft heathered beige color, and they’re made from recycled cotton. The bag also has drawstrings that can function as backpack straps— perfect for shopping at a wool festival! The supplier I’m working with contributes to 1% For The Planet with these sustainable bags. If you purchased the 2024 advent calendar, this is the same wonderful base bag, but with a new illustration!

-A 5” x 7” notebook, bound in recycled cotton and silk-screened with one of my original illustrations. These notebooks have a ribbon bookmark and an elastic strap to hold your swatches and other ephemera inside. These also help contribute to 1% For The Planet. These are the same gorgeous base notebooks as in the 2023 advent calendar, but with a new illustration for this year!

-A festive hard enamel Sweet Sparrow pin in a new design for 2025! Hard enamel is the highest quality enamel for pins, creating a beautifully polished, smooth surface.

Your advent calendar will ship by November 7th in the US via Priority Mail so that you receive it in plenty of time to begin opening on December 1st! If you’re an international customer, your advent calendar will ship via USPS International First Class Package Service by October 24th to allow for international shipping time.
