Hydrangeas have always felt a little otherworldly to me— big puffs of hundreds of tiny florets in watercolor shades of periwinkle blue-violet. When I was a child, my family used to visit Cape May, New Jersey every summer. The gingerbread Victorian houses we stayed in were often bordered with hydrangeas, the clouds of blossoms at my eye level. The salt-scented ocean breeze ruffled the petals, setting them fluttering like the wings of thousands of butterflies. I felt like a fairy hiding amongst the bushes, peeking out at the world from my bower of blooms.
Our Bunting base is a delightfully toothy, yet comfortably soft 4-ply fingering weight. Bunting is spun from 100% non-superwash Peruvian Highland wool, and the longer staple length wool combined with the multi-ply structure makes it very durable. Bunting is especially beautiful in colorwork or cabled projects. It’s also a great option if you prefer to knit non-superwash, nylon-free socks.
As this is a hand-dyed yarn, there are no dye-lots and skeins may vary slightly. Alternating skeins is recommended, as is purchasing enough yarn to complete your project. This yarn base is not superwash and will felt if machine washed. Handwash gently in cool water and lay flat to dry.
