One of the great joys of being a gardener is, for me, starting seeds indoors. Here in the Catskills, it’s not uncommon to get snow through April and even into early May, so it feels like a small miracle to ignore the frosty temperatures and get my hands into some soil, even if that soil comes from a bag. The world outside is still gray when one magical morning, I rush into our guest room and find that there are tiny points of green pushing their way up through the seed-starting mix and reaching toward the light. Seedling is the green of those very first leaves— soft, delicate, but with an undeniable life to it.

Our Sandpiper base is a beautifully soft single-ply, with beautiful drape when knit. Sandpiper knits into beautiful accessories, showcasing stitch patterns, lace, or colorwork.

As this is a hand-dyed yarn, there are no dye-lots and skeins may vary slightly. Alternating skeins is recommended. While this yarn base is superwash and will not felt if it accidentally finds its way into the washing machine, hand-washing your hand-knits and laying them flat to dry will ensure you can enjoy them for a long time to come.
